Football Coaching Staff

Head Coach:

Mark Stroud

Mark Stroud teaches 8th Grade Bible and is the Head Football Coach. This is coach Stroud's eleventh year at Calvary and had been coaching for 33 years total.
His favorite verse is Philippians 2:3 “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”

Offensive Coordinator:

Wayne Brantley

Wayne Brantley teaches US government and Civics for the middle school. He is the head track coach and offensive coordinator for the varsity football team. This is coach Brantley’s first year at Calvary and he has been coaching for 25 years total.
His favorite bible verse is Galatians 6:7-9 “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Assistant Coach:

Logan Daves

Logan Daves is Calvary’s strength and conditioning teacher and coaches football and wrestling. He has coached for 4 years total and coached 3 years at Calvary.
His favorite bible verse is Matthew 23:12 “For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and for those who humble themselves will be exhaled.”

Assistant Coach:

Michael Carswell

Michael Carswell teaches AP US History, AP Government, Honors US History, US History and is the Honor Council Chairperson, Assistant Athletic Director, AP Coordinator, and History Department Chairperson. He is the assistant football coach, co-head wrestling coach, assistant boys soccer coach, assistant girls soccer coach. He has coached a total of 38 years and 10 years at Calvary.
His favorite bible verse is Isaiah 40:28-31 “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Assistant Coach:

Wes Worthington

Wesley Worthington teaches Personal Finance, Psychology & AP Psychology as well as being the Lower School Athletic Director. He coaches both Football and Track. He has coached for 11 years total and has coached 2 years at Calvary.
His favorite verse is Matthew 7:12 "Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets."
